About

An amazing man once told me that if he could do it over, he would have raised his children on a farm.  When I asked him why, he said it taught children responsibility and hard work.

My oldest child was only three and the twins had just arrived.  After the craziness of infant twins and an active toddler passed, the idea of raising children on a farm didn't. Thankfully a movement towards local foods and backyard farming helped convince a supportive husband that I could have a piece of the farming lifestyle on our not-so-farm-sized acre of land.

Now thirty dirty toes walk through garden beds full of homegrown vegetables.  The three children those toes are attached to get to learn about where their food comes from, the responsibility of caring for living things, and the work associated with keeping our "hobby farm" going.
